HELP FILL THANKSGIVING BASKETS BY DONATING TO THESE ORGANIZATIONS
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Saint Junipero Serra Catholic Church in Phelan and Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church in Wrightwood are currently collecting food items to put into Thanksgiving Baskets for those in need. Look for collection boxes in local businesses and at most Snowline schools. Food to be collected includes Juice, Jello, potato buds, canned yams or sweet potatoes, cornbread mix, boxed dressing, canned cranberries, gravy, canned fruits, and canned vegetables such as green beans and corn. Drop your donations at Saint Junipero Serra Church in Phelan, Monday through Thursday, 8-4 p.m.
The Tri-Community Helping Hands is collecting non-perishable food items for their Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Food Baskets. Canned goods (vegetables or fruits) and boxed items (stuffing, potatoes, etc) can be dropped off in Wrightwood at the Wrightwood CSD, 1275 Hwy 2, Monday through Friday, 8 am-1 pm, or at United Methodist Church, 1453 Barbara Street, Monday thru Friday from 9 am-1 pm.
Food Basket Give-Away at the Fountain of Living Waters Four Square Church on Saturday, November 18th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. First come- First served. 10120 Johnson Road, Phelan, 760-868-4081.
Hillside Community Church will be supporting Phelan Elementary School families this season with Thanksgiving meal kits. Donate 1/4 of a meal kit for $15, 1/2 meal kit for $25 or a full meal kit that feeds a whole family for $50. Each kit will include traditional holiday meal staples such as a turkey or ham, multiple sides, rolls and desserts for a family. Donations are made online at www.hillsidechurch.com/holidays. Please donate by Sunday, November 19th.
Pinon Hills Elementary is hosting a food drive. Students can donate non-perishable thanksgiving food items to help benefit those in need this holiday season. All donations will go towards Thanksgiving baskets for local families. Drop off food at the Pinon Hills Elementary Coyote Counseling Center by November 15th.
WHERE TO SHARE & ENJOY A THANKSGIVING MEAL
Fountain of Living Waters Four Square Church will serve a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner prepared by the church on Sunday, November 19th, at 5 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. First come, first served. The dinner will be held in the House of Prayer, 10120 Johnson Road, Phelan, 760-868-4081.
Saint Junipero Serra Catholic Church invites anyone single, elderly, or home alone to a Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday, November 23rd, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. All are welcome to share, give thanks, and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. Food, fun, and fellowship will be served. RSVP is appreciated at 760-868-4342. Saint Junipero Serra Church is located at 8820 Sheepcreek Road, Phelan, just south of Serrano High School.
A Senior Thanksgiving Luncheon will be held at the Wrightwood Community Building on Wednesday, November 22nd from 11:30am-1:00pm for Seniors who are 60 years and older. Suggested donation is $8. Enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, refreshments, coffee, pie and entertainment with a chance to win raffle prizes. Limited space is available so please register by Friday, November 17th by emailing wrightwoodseniors@gmail.com. The luncheon is hosted by the Wrightwood Senior Social Club and the Wrightwood CSD, but Seniors from Phelan and Pinon Hills are welcome.
