There is one remaining day to take advantage of free tax preparation and electronic filing in the Tri-Communty. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide jointly with IRS free assistance is on April 6, 2026 at Phelan Senior Center located at 4128 Warbler Road in Phelan from 8-11:30am. Services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to senior citizens as well as individuals with low to moderate income.
Attendees are required to bring their previous year’s tax return, along with actual Social Security cards for all individuals listed on the return (a Social Security statement with pink stripes is acceptable), a valid government-issued photograph ID, such as a driver’s license or passport for both yourself and your spouse. For joint filings, both spouses must be present to sign the return. It is also essential to bring all relevant tax documents for 2025, including last year’s tax return, W-2s, 1099s, and 1095s.
