On Saturday, July 10th, Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh honored the Phelan Pizza Factory and the Tri-Community Kiwanis for outstanding service to their community.
Pizza Factory Owners, Brian and Kim Lombardi, received a visit from State Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh, her friendly staff, and Phelan Chamber President Rebecca Kujawa. They were presented with a certificate honoring their commitment to being a good neighbor business. The Pizza Factory has always supported the community and has been the place to have your meetings. Little League to Kiwanis, any organization or club is welcomed to reserve a room to have their meeting. Their generosity to these community groups is truly commendable.
Even during COVID, when groups couldn’t gather and while trying to keep their own business open, the Pizza Factor held fundraisers to help those businesses that were temporarily shuddered because they weren’t considered essential businesses. Senator Ochoa Bogh and Chamber President Kujawa thanked the Lombardi’s for their commitment to the community and presented them with a certificate to commemorate the occasion.
In keeping with the spirit of the Pizza Factory’s commitment to meetings, the Senator stepped into one of the Pizza Factory’s meeting rooms to meet with the Tri-Community Kiwanis. Kiwanis Secretary Diana Ford, Directory Roxanne Garcia, and member Lori Westin posed for a photo as Senator Ochoa Bogh presented a certificate of recognition to the Kiwanis. The certificate read, “In recognition of your philanthropic spirit. Your effort and contributions serve as a positive influence on the Tri-Community area. Your dedication to improving the world one child and one community at a time is commendable.”

The Tri-Community is dedicated to supporting local youth in many areas, including sponsoring the Heritage Builders Club and the Serrano Key Club. Most recently started a new program called “Kids On The Block,” which uses interactive puppetry to teach students, generally 3rd graders, about disabilities and sensitive social issues. Serrano Key Club students are the puppeteers. The Kiwanis meet at the Pizza Factory every second and fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00. Come to a meeting and join one of the Tri-Community’s premier organizations.
