St. Patrick’s Horse Derby Returns For A Night Of Racing And Raffles

Off To the Races: Who needs a racetrack when you have stick ponies and giant dice? Join the fun and support a great cause at the Kiwanis Horse Derby.

The Tri-Community Kiwanis St. Patrick’s Horse Derby is set to take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Piñon Hills Community Center, located at 10433 Mountain Road. The annual event promises an evening filled with food, drinks, friendship, and a unique take on horse racing.

Attendees will have the chance to participate in races using stick ponies, with guests acting as jockeys while others roll giant dice to determine their advancement toward the finish line. Spectators can place bets using tokens, and at the end of the night, those tokens can be exchanged for raffle tickets for a chance to win an assortment of prizes.

Time to saddle up and get ready to ride at the 2025 Tri-Community Kiwanis St. Patrick’s Horse Derby!

Nine races are scheduled, each featuring six horses and their respective jockeys. The lighthearted competition is open to the whole family and is sure to provide an entertaining experience for jockeys and spectators alike.

Tickets to the event are available for a $25 donation, which includes dinner and 10 betting tokens. Additional tokens may be purchased throughout the night, and beer, wine, and soda will be available for an additional cost. A 50/50 raffle and a huge assortment of raffle prizes for you to place your raffle ticket winnings. Derby Tickets can be purchased at Keller Williams Realty, 4208 Phelan Road.

Proceeds from the fundraiser support local children through various Kiwanis programs, and there are multiple ways for businesses and individuals to get involved. Sponsorship opportunities are available for those looking to support the event while gaining exposure.

Race sponsorships are available for $100 and include a horse sponsorship, a name and logo placement on the racing forms and table placemats, and an announcement before the race. Horse sponsorships are also available for $50, which includes the opportunity to name a horse and recognition on the racing forms and placemats. Businesses and individuals may also donate gift certificates or prizes valued at $25 or more, with donor names included on placemats as a token of appreciation.
