June 6th, 2024, will mark the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings in the Battle of Normandy, which occurred during World War II. This turning point in the war was a pivotal moment that marked the Allied invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe in France. D-Day allowed Allied forces to gain a foothold in France and ultimately begin the process of pushing the German forces back towards Germany, which contributed significantly to the overall defeat of Nazi Germany less than a year later.
In May, the Serrano High School Choir and Band will celebrate the American spirit and teamwork that ended WWII in 1944 by offering a Salute to D-Day Concert.
The community is invited to attend this wonderful event to honor and commemorate this pivotal point in history. The concert will feature music performances from the award-winning Serrano Band Ensemble and the Serrano High School Choir, who had the honor of performing for the National Memorial Day Concert at our nation’s capital in Washington, D.C.
The performance will occur on Thursday, May 30th, at 7:00 pm in the Serrano High School Performing Arts Center at 9292 Sheep Creek Rd. in Phelan. Tickets are $10 And can be purchased online at www.gofan.co/app/school/CA8043
All proceeds from the concert will directly benefit the Serrano High School music and choir programs, which have been faithful patriots performing for the annual High Desert Veterans’ Dinner and countless Memorial and Veterans’ Day ceremonies held each year in the Tri-Community. Get your tickets today to see these two amazing programs showcase their talented student musicians and singers.
The event is organized by Todd Anton, Daniel Minick, and Jonathan Dolan, and they wish to thank all of the wonderful sponsors and donors who helped to make this event possible.
