The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District are co-sponsoring a Tri-Community Household Hazardous Waste Collection event Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CR&R Yard, 9828 Buckwheat Road in Phelan.
The event is for household waste only; no business-generated waste will be accepted. It is open to San Bernardino County residents with valid ID. Waste brought before 9 a.m. will not be accepted, and all waste must be received by county Fire Protection District personnel.
Hazardous materials must be transported in containers no larger than 5 gallons, with labels and lids, and weighing no more than 125 pounds in total. Containers must be in good condition and not leaking. Used oil filters are recyclable, but solid waste, commercial waste, radioactive material, asbestos, explosives, tires, appliances and furniture will not be accepted.
