John was a driving force in the successful operation of the Phelan Senior Center. Up until 2017, John was a dedicated member and always contributed to voicing new ideas for the benefit of the seniors and the center. In 2017, John was elected Vice-President and served at the center until 2018 he was elected President. Again, in 2022 and 2023, John was elected Vice-President. John and his wife, Nadine, were also valued members of the Pinon Hills Seniors and well-loved by all, especially for John’s ideas and thunder voice at the potluck lunches. When the food was ready, he would bellow out, “LET’S EAT.” We lost John on July 12th, 2023, due to heart failure. The Senior Centers nor the High Desert will be the same without this remarkable man.
