Today, October 16, 2020, Tri-Community NewsPlus editor, Don Fish Jr., announced that NewsPlus will be hosting a virtual Candidate Forum for the six candidates running for two district areas of the Snowline Joint Unified School District. The live event will start at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, and last for about 90 minutes. The forum will be broadcast live on the Forum’s Event Page on Facebook and at 4newsplus-v3-1.mystagingwebsite.com. The Forum will be moderated by Don Fish Jr with each Candidate given time to introduce themselves and give a closing statement. There will also be a question and answer section where candidates will be asked a total of six questions on three general subject areas pertaining to the Snowline School District.

There are two Board seats open for November 3, 2020 election. One seat for District Area 2 and one seat for District Area 5 are up for election this year. Each seat must be filled by a candidate living within the District Area boundaries for which they are running. The incumbent Trustee for District Area 2 is David Nilsen, who decided he would not be running for re-election for a new term. Three candidates have thrown their names in for election, Daniel Flores, Todd Moen, and Anona Gasca. The incumbent Trustee for District Area 5 is Kenny Funk, who will not be running for re-election. Trustee Funk does not live within the boundaries of District Area 5 and, therefore, cannot run. In the interim, he was appointed to the Trustee spot when the previous Trustee resigned his position. The three candidates running for District Area 5 are Nathan Bristol, Tari O’Neill, and Graham Ludlow.
