The High Desert Keepers are back at it with Operation Cajon, joining forces with Disabled Senior Veterans Non-Profit (DSV) and asking for volunteers to help clean up the Southwest corner of the Cajon Junction (behind the Subway/Shell Gas Station) at 14949 Cajon Blvd. on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. After collecting almost 750 tons (1,423,000 lbs.) of trash in the high desert with Operations Buckwheat, Phelan Square, and Malpaso in the past few months, Operation Cajon promises to be another successful clean-up mission.
Always recruiting eager volunteers to help beautify the high desert, The High Desert Keepers and DSV Non-Profit believe the best place to start is at home. This highly visible freeway interchange (I-15, CA-138) will appreciate the clean-up results with all driving past to enjoy. For volunteer information, go to highdesertkeepers.org or call 760-792-7399 or 760-900-8686. At the Shell station, follow Cajon Blvd south down to the end, into the clean-up area. A pizza lunch will be provided for those who participate afterward by The Pizza Factory in Phelan.
