Aglow Ministry’s Clothing Pantry Benefits The Tri-Community

Volunteers prepare for a recent Aglow Ministry Clothing Pantry event at Fountain of the Living Waters Church in Phelan.

Aglow Ministry’s clothing pantry is a fantastic resource for the Tri-Community.
For over six years, Nancy Santiago of Aglow Ministry has offered a clothing pantry to those in need in the Tri-Community. She and her loyal volunteers gather clean, gently used, and new clothing to give away to families in need. Her group meets to sort, label, and box the clothing that is then stored initially in a storage container at Fountain of Living Waters Church.

Several times a year, Nancy holds clothing giveaway events to offer clothing to those in need. The meticulously organized clothing is laid out on tables, and the volunteer concierges escort each guest around the tables to help find and pick out just the right articles of clothing needed for themselves or their family.

Nancy only puts out clothing that she would wear. While sorting, if anything has a hole or a spot on it, that item is laid aside to be recycled and is never presented to her guests.

Nancy hopes to offer free clothing events at least four times per year. Her biggest event is called the Winter Readiness Clothing Giveaway and is held every September. This event focuses on offering jackets and blankets, and just about any other type of clothing that can be used to keep warm.

The pantry’s first events were held at Pinon Mesa Middle School in the Womack Auditorium attracting five hundred or more families in the winter. The Snowline School District supported the efforts, allowing the use of the auditorium, and the Snowline Community Cabinet provided additional storage at that time, which she is incredibly grateful for.

About a year ago, she needed to move her pantry to a permanent location, which is now at Fountain of Living Waters Church on Johnson Road. Her events are now held there at the church with her sincere gratitude.
Fountain of Living Waters Church is located in Phelan at 9298 Johnson Road, just north of Phelan Road. For more information or to find out when the next event will be held contact Nancy Santiago at Aglowingwalk4jesus@gmail.com or visit their Facebook page by searching “Aglow-Phelan-Pinon-Hills-Lighthouse.” Donations are accepted by appointment only by calling 760-694-0378.
