The Wrightwood Little League All-stars took the 8-10 Division Championship on July 3, 2022 in game six with a 25-12 win over Apple Valley American.
It was a long journey from being the smallest league in the district to winning five out of six games in the division finals. This division consists of players ranging in age from 8 to 10 years old. They beat Barstow 19-3 in game one; beat Hesperia National 18-8 in game 2; lost to Apple Valley American 11-10 in game 3; beat Apple Valley National 30-9 in game 4; beat Apple Valley American 20-9 in game 5; and beat Apple Valley American in the Championship game 25-13.
The sectionals were held on July 16 in San Bernardino in a double elimination tournament where they lost both games to the Rancho Cucamonga Vineyard League and the San Bernardino Newmark League.
The Wrightwood Little League All-Star team is managed by Joey Westhoff, coached by Wayne Fisher, Andrew Morrow and Cory Thompson. The players are 00-Tucker Westhoff, 1-Ryder Thompson, 3-Rowan Oglivie, 5-Sawyer Fisher, 6-Greyson Wilkes, 7-Everett Turner, 9-Wyatt Moore, 13-Reagan Wayne Antle, 14-Brady Ryan Antle, 17-Brody Westhoff, 18-Paxton Simons, 24-Lucas Ellis, and 31-Wyatt Morrow.
