The Tri-Community will present two Memorial Day Ceremonies for the public to attend on Monday, May 27th. One ceremony will be held at the Wrightwood Veterans Memorial Park while the other ceremony will be held at the Phelan VFW Post 9415. Both events begin at 11am on Monday, May 27, 2024.
The 16th annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Wrightwood Veterans Memorial will include a Military Fly-Over along with a formal program with the Benediction from Pastor Dave Conrad, National Anthem sung Claudia Campbell, and the raising of the Flag from Boy Scout Troop 351. Girl Scouts will participate during the wreath-laying ceremony. Also, Lora Steinmann and the Wrightwood Chorus perform “Songs of the Service, Captain Tom Pinard and Lora Steinmann present the Honor Bricks ceremony, Chairs will be provided to those in attendance. The Wrightwood Veterans Memorial Park is located on Evergreen Road in the Village.
The Phelan VFW Post 9415 will also be hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony on May 27th at 11am which will include the Raising of the Flag and the Flag Retirement ceremony presented by local Boy Scout Troop 351. This is must see solemn ceremony. The VFW Post located at 4892 Nielson Road in Phelan and the public is encouraged to attend. Also look for the VFW Auxiliary Poppy Distribution in front of Stater Bros during the Memorial weekend. The poppy is a symbol of the sacrifices our military have made.
