For more than 30 years, Rick’s Auto in Phelan has been a trusted name in the Tri-Community, known for its honest service and strong ties to the community. Following the passing of its longtime owner, Rick Manz, on February 12, 2025, his brother Bob Manz wants customers to know that the business will remain open and continue to provide the same quality service it always has.
“There may be a few days where we’ll need to close during the transition, but otherwise, we’ll remain open for business,” Bob said.
Bob has worked alongside Rick at the shop since 1995 and is committed to maintaining the same standards of integrity and reliability that made Rick’s Auto a respected local institution. The shop has long been a go-to for residents needing auto repairs, maintenance, and expert advice, thanks to Rick’s dedication to his customers.
Rick, who moved to Wrightwood in 1965, spent much of his life serving the community. From his early days working at Rady’s Automotive to his time as a paid call fireman and EMT with the Wrightwood Fire Department, he built a reputation as both a skilled mechanic and a man who truly cared about those around him.
Bob expressed his gratitude to the community for their support over the years and hopes customers will continue to trust Rick’s Auto for their automotive needs.
“We appreciate everyone who has supported us, and we look forward to serving the community just as Rick always did,” he said.
Rick’s Auto is located at 4686 Phelan Road in Phelan. For more information, call 760-868-4117. For updates on the transition, check back with NewsPlus.
