Get ready to go green with the Tri-Community Green Waste Recycling Days, hosted by the Wrightwood Fire Safe Council.

The Tri-Community Green Waste Recycling Days will take place from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2, 2024, and will be held across from the Wrightwood Fire Station on Highway 2. The hours of operation will be from 9 am to 3 pm, and the event is free for all.

You can drop off pine needles, weeds, branches, tree trimmings, grass, and pine cones at the site. However, the drop-off site cannot accept rocks, dirt, cement, trash, Joshua, or Palm trees. Additionally, limbs must be no larger than 10 inches in diameter, and stumps, roots, and lumber will not be accepted. When transporting green waste on local roads, it is mandatory to cover the load.

Pine needles and pine cones will be recycled, and to assist in this environmentally friendly recycling program, please ensure that weeds and tree trimmings are separated from pine needles and pine cones. Pine needles do not need to be bagged, and pickup truck or trailer loads are allowed. A useful tip is to place a tarp inside your truck or trailer bed before loading green waste for easy unloading.

This event is presented and sponsored by Wrightwood Fire Safe Council, CalFire, CR&R Environmental, Wrightwood Community Services District, Mountain High, Wrightwood CERT, Mountain Hardware, San Bernardino Code Enforcement, and San Bernardino County Fire. Funding for this project is provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s Fire Prevention Program.
