New Faces: There are many new faces around The Ranch Steakhouse these days, with three new chefs, some new and revamped menu items, and Brian & Kim Lombardi now taking the reigns of the daily operations.  Stop by and say, "Howdy!"  Dean Nanfito, Brian Lombardi, Angel Barragan, and James Grippo are Pictured.

After a successful Mother’s Day brunch, the folks at the Ranch are eagerly planning their next big event that is sure to bring delight and full tummies to Dads across the Tri-Community. That’s right, on Sunday, June 18, 2023, the Ranch Steakhouse will host an All You Can Eat BBQ Brunch on Father’s Day. The brunch will include a tri-tip carving station, burnt ends, pork ribs, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, mac & cheese, veggies, coleslaw, six breakfast items, desserts, and more. Those familiar with the menu at the Ranch will surely notice some familiar offerings on the bunch menu mixed in with some new items that the new chef staff has meticulously developed, and they are eager for you to taste what they have to offer. The brunch will start at 10:00 am and run through 2:00 pm. The cost is $45 per person, and kids 11 and under are just $16. If you like Micheladas, for an additional $15, you can add the “All You Can Drink” option to your meal.

With a new chef staff at the helm, guests can expect new menu options, revamped recipes, and a fresh take on the previous menu. Executive Chef Angel Barragan is excited to bring his talents to the Tri-Community. He has over 45 years of experience in the restaurant business, with the last 26 at Outback Steakhouse. Over the years, Angel has worked his way through the kitchen ranks, up to executive chef status, and opened several new restaurant locations for Outback. He especially loves working with meats, from grilling to BBQ-ing. “After retiring from Outback, I was looking for something different,” said Angel. “And I have found that here at The Ranch.” He is looking to tighten the menu with some new offerings, possibly ribs and pasta dishes. “I am excited to bring good steaks, good food, and happy customers to this community.” Angel has lived in the Victor Valley for over 20 years, raised two children, and has six grandchildren.

James Grippo is the new Grill/Line Chef, bringing great excitement to the kitchen. James has been cooking professionally for three years, working his way from dishwasher to fry cook, to salads, to fry station, and finally to the Grill Station. He also hails from the Outback Steakhouse. While he thoroughly enjoys the cooking side of the kitchen, his passion is baking. Maybe we’ll see some great house-baked items on the menu in the future. James has lived in Victorville for 21 years and enjoys raising his 11-year-old daughter.

To round out the chef staff, Dean Nanfito is the Sous Chef. He grew up in Pinon Hills and has been cooking since he was ten years old and professionally since he was 15. He cut his teeth at Mountain High and has worked at several restaurants, including a Teppan Chef at Benihana. He received formal culinary arts training at the Arts Institute in San Bernardino. He is a creative, hands-on chef who has a passion for food.

The Ranch has been offering up live music Saturdays and some great drink specials in the bar, such as a Hangover Cure Bloody Mary, which comes complete with candied bacon, chicken strips, Mac and cheese bites, a cheeseburger, shrimp, celery, jalapeños, and olives. And for those with a sweet tooth, a whole lineup of Boozy Milkshakes has debuted, including the “Son of a Cinner-man” made with Chocolate Ice Cream, Cinnamon sprinkles, chocolate drizzle, and Fireball Whiskey and the “Skrewed Up Buttercup” made with Chocolate Ice Cream, Reese’s peanut butter cup, chocolate drizzle and Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey. If bourbon is your go-to, then there is the “Bourbon Outlaw” made with Vanilla Ice Cream, a salted caramel drizzle, and Wild Turkey 101 with a Candied chili pepper Bacon slice. On Saturday nights, the Ranch Bar features live music from local bands such as The Miranda Project, Mod-Rodds, and the Nomads. They fire up at 7:00 pm.

The Ranch Steakhouse in Phelan is the latest business to startup in the Tri-Community. The Phelan restaurant has been serving up steaks, drinks, and live music since it opened this February. Owners Brian and Kim Lombardi are now taking a leadership role in the business’s daily operations after the previous co-owners recent departure. The Lombardi’s are excited to take on the challenge and are working hard to bring new and exciting changes to the restaurant and bar.

The Ranch Steakhouse in Phelan is located at 4264 Phelan Road in Phelan. Their hours are Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, and they are closed on Mondays. The bar opens at 10:00 am daily, is open one hour after the restaurant closes, and is closed on Mondays. They can be reached at 422-936-9111 and can be followed on Facebook.
