Last years' 2024-25 Miss Phelan Court.

Beyond the glitz and glamour, the Miss Phelan Pageant is a story of heart, ambition and community spirit. It’s a night where young women don’t just compete, they inspire. This year’s pageant to crown the 2025-26 Miss Phelan Court will take place Sept. 18 at 5 p.m., with the festivities held at Baldy Mesa Elementary School. For anyone interested in registering to participate, the last day registrations will be accepted is Sept. 5, with a fee of $200.

“The purpose of the pageant is to teach young women to empower themselves and be of service to their community,” said Roxanne Marinello, who has been involved with the pageant since 2014. The contestants will compete in several categories throughout the evening, including onstage questions and an evening gown walk. By the end of the night, a winner will be crowned in each of the seven divisions, with participants ranging from ages 1 to 21.

The seven divisions are broken down into the following age brackets:

  • Tiny Miss Phelan: 1-2 years
  • Petite Miss Phelan: 3-6 years
  • Little Miss Phelan: 7-9 years
  • Junior Miss Phelan: 10-12 years
  • Young Miss Phelan: 13-14 years
  • Teen Miss Phelan: 15-17 years
  • Miss Phelan: 18-21 years

Along with the Miss Phelan titles, contestants will also have the opportunity to receive one of two additional awards: Most Photogenic and Miss Congeniality. There will also be several awards, judged separately, given out just for fun in categories such as Best Hair, Best Pageant Attire, Personality and Best Modeling.

All winners of the Miss Phelan Pageant will take part in a number of community and chamber events throughout the year, including tree-lighting ceremonies within the Tri-Community and local parades, starting with Phelan Phun Days.

If you have ever wanted to be involved with the Miss Phelan Pageant but not in a competing capacity, the pageant committee is always looking for members of the community who are willing to donate their time to help, with some even serving as judges. There is also the option to sponsor a contestant for those who wish to help in other ways.

Best of luck to all contestants competing for the 2025-26 Miss Phelan Court! For information on how to register, please visit the Miss Phelan Pageant website at https://phelanchamber.info/miss-phelan-pageant.
