Caltrans is continuing to work on the 15 Freeway pavement rehabilitation from Oak Hills Road in Hesperia to just south of Bear Valley Road in Victorville. Expect delays this week in the evening and early mornings since crews will be working Northbound from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m and Southbound from 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. This schedule is subject to change depending on weather, and there will be no road work on Thursday, March 30th or Friday, March 31st this week in observance of Cesar Chavez Day.
Edison will also be working near the I-15 and Ranchero Road in Hesperia. Therefore, the I-15 Northbound Ranchero off-ramp will be closed on Wednesday, March 29th from 7:00 am -4:00 pm with a possible extended ramp closure on Thursday as well.
Drivers can expect alternating lane closures during this week, along with intermittent on and off-ramp closures and the possibility of closures going down to one lane. In order to to avoid delays Caltrans suggests using SR-138 to SR-18 in Phelan and then connecting back to the I-15 as a detour.
The purpose of this project is to improve the safety performance and smoother roadway along with drainage systems that will be upgraded for better water flow. This project is on going and is anticipated to be completed by Spring of 2025. For more information about the pavement rehabilitation project visit Caltrans website.
