Weather permitting, The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be rehabilitating 59 miles of lanes, ramps, and drainage systems on Interstate-15 in Hesperia, from Oak Hills Rd to Bear Valley Rd in Victorville from July 18 at 6:00 a.m. to July 28 at 6:00 a.m. A closure at southbound Ranchero Rd on ramp will occur July 18 at 6:00 a.m. to July 28 at 6:00 a.m. (subject to change.) These Monday through Saturday excavation and paving operations will continue in both North and Southbound lanes of I-15. All on and off ramps will be subject to closure for crew safety and related roadwork.
Northbound on the I-15 from Oak Hill Rd to Bear Valley Rd work will proceed at 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with alternating lane closures, possibly bringing lanes down to one. Southbound roadwork will begin at 6:00 p.m. and continue until 6:00 a.m. with intermittent closures and lane reductions possible. There is a traffic switch north of the US-395 with the Northbound traffic detoured into the median to enable crews to remove and replace concrete. During normal operations, connector closures may take place at the Northbound and Southbound US-395 transitions.
As added information, big rigs, trucks trailers, and/or large loads SHOULD NOT use lane 4. Watch out for work trucks entering and exiting from work areas and center median. In the event of rain North and Southbound lanes #1 and #2 will close due to potential flooding. A detour using SR-138 to SR-18 in Phelan is suggested back to I-15 to avoid delays. Remember to reduce your speed when approaching and driving through the construction zones.
