HDK To Host Spaghetti Dinner & Chance Drawing Fundraiser

On Wednesday, April 12th, the High Desert Keepers Organization (HDK) is holding its annual Spaghetti Madness Dinner and Chance Drawing Fundraiser in the Serrano High School Cafeteria. For those unfamiliar, HDK is a non-profit group of volunteers whose primary function is to clean up trash illegally dumped throughout the community. You may have seen them around the area in bright orange and yellow Trash Trooper t-shirts and cleaning up various areas of the community. The organization hosts this annual gala to help pay for equipment upgrades and provide supplies and food/drinks for their devoted Trash Troopers (aka loyal volunteers). HDK would love your support in this mission to solve the illegal dumping problem throughout the High Desert.

The doors at the Serrano cafeteria will open at 5:30 pm, and dinner will be served at 6 pm. Dinner will consist of spaghetti, salad, bread/rolls, a choice of brownie or vegan cookies, and drinks. Tickets are $15 for those persons 12 years and older and $10 for the 11 and under “littles.” Gayle and Company will provide some live musical entertainment during dinner to add to the ambiance.

In addition, the organization will be holding a Chance Opportunity Drawing for numerous prizes. The top prize, whose winner will be selected first, is a 65-inch Samsung flat-screen television. Other prizes include gift certificates from local businesses like Rick’s Roadside Café, My Hero Subs and Pub, The Ranch Steakhouse, the Village Grind, and others. There will also be gift baskets and desserts, including baskets of Morgan Reed cookies and brownies, along with Morgan Reed cheesecakes. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six tickets, and winners need not be present to win.

Additionally, HDK is doing a “critter” drawing. With each dinner ticket, attendees will receive a Critter Ticket to enter to win one of the 22 adorable stuffed animals that represent the local fauna impacted by illegal dumping. Extra Critter Tickets can be purchased for $2 at the event.

The High Desert Keepers would love to see you there. For questions or additional information, or if you’d like to donate to the cause, please get in touch with President Scott Brown at (760)792-7399 or or Treasurer Morgan Reed at(760)553-6742 or HDK would like to send a special thank you to Davy Feller of Phelan Express for his generous $500 sponsorship and to Keller-Williams Realty and DCB Wrightwood for their $100 sponsorships of the event.
