Earth Month kicked off on April 1st, which is a time to celebrate our planet and take action to protect it. According to Sustainlife.org, Earth Month continues the Earth Day movement, which began in the early 1970s. The first Earth Day was held in the U.S. on April 22, 1970, and we have continued to celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd every year since. Here is a list of events and activities taking place in and around the Tri-Community that honor our planet, which helps us remember that we can continue to celebrate Earth Day all year long.
