Residents of Wrightwood celebrated Easter this year with a successful egg hunt and pancake breakfast fundraiser that drew local families together.

Hosted by the Timberline Lions Club of Wrightwood, a breakfast fundraiser took place at the Wrightwood Community Building, where the smell of fresh pancakes, sausage and eggs greeted attendees early Easter morning, offering a hearty start to the day.

Musical entertainment was provided by a talented 8-year-old piano player while guests enjoyed their meals and took pictures with the Easter Bunny. Gift basket drawings were also a highlight with prizes donated by local businesses including Bennys Boards, Pharmacy Boardshop, 6000 ft, and Wrightwood Brew Company! The breakfast serves as an important event for the Timberline Lions Club, which raises funds for local programs and service projects in Wrightwood.

By mid-morning, children lined up eagerly with colorful baskets in hand, ready for the highlight of the day, the beloved Easter egg hunt, which was hosted by the Wrightwood Property Owners Association. Thousands of brightly colored eggs were scattered across the Wrightwood Elementary School’s upper field, creating a festive and energetic scene. The WPOA supplied 2,100 Easter eggs that were stuffed with candy and toys as kids raced to collect the surprises. The hunt was sectioned into four different age groups, ranging from infants all the way to 6th graders. A few of the eggs were also stuffed with raffle tickets, which were then entered into an opportunity drawing for the kids to win even more prizes.

In addition to the hunt, families had the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny and take photos, all while enjoying time with neighbors in a relaxed, community-focused setting. With clear skies and a strong turnout, this year’s event was considered a success, where the community gathered for good food, family fun, and a meaningful cause!
