Caltrans announced that several lanes and ramps along the I-15, from Victorville to Hesperia, will be intermittently closed overnight starting on Friday, January 26th through Saturday morning in order to repair any damaged crash barrels and channelizer cones.
Overnight Southbound closures will alternate intermittently between the hours of 7:00pm – 8:00am. The affected ramps and lanes include:
· Oak Hill Road off ramp
· Ranchero Road on and off ramps
· Westbound Ranchero Road on ramp
· Alternating lane closures from US-395 to Oak Hill Road
· I-15 off ramp to US 395
· Joshua Street off ramp
· Main Street off ramp
· Bear Valley Road
· Alternating lane closures from Bear Valley Road to US 395
· East and westbound Bear Valley Road on ramp
· Southbound US 395 connector to the southbound I-15
Overnight Northbound closures will alternate intermittently between the hours of 11:59pm – 7:00am. The affected ramps and lanes include:
· Alternating lane closures from Oak Hill Road to US-395
· Oak Hill Road on and off ramps
· Ranchero Road on and off ramps
· Alternating lane closures from US 395 to Bear Valley Road
· Northbound US 395 connector to northbound I-15 on ramp
· Joshua Street on ramp
· East and westbound Main Street to NB I-15 on ramp
· Main Street off ramp
· Bear Valley Road off ramp
After this weekend the regular overnight work on the I-15 will continue from Monday-Saturday. While traveling on the I-15, expect delays in the evening and early mornings since crews will work Northbound from 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. and Southbound from 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. During these hours, drivers will experience alternating lane closures, intermittent on and off-ramp closures, and the possibility of closures going down to one lane. During normal operations, connector closures may occur at the Northbound and Southbound US-395 transitions. Caltrans suggests using SR-138 to SR-18 in Phelan to avoid delays and then connecting to the I-15 as a detour.
Motorists should also reduce their speeds will approaching construction zones. In the event of rain, North and Southbound lanes #1 and #2 will close due to potential flooding. This project aims to improve safety performance, provide a smoother roadway, and improve drainage systems for better water flow. This ongoing project is anticipated to be completed by Spring of 2025.
