San Bernardino Regional Parks is excited to welcome back the one-day trout derby on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Mojave Narrows Regional Park in Victorville. Gates open at 6:30 a.m., and prepaid derby feesare encouraged. The derby fee is $20 per person, plus $10 per vehicle. A fishing license is required for all participants ages 16 and older. Participants will receive a wristband and a packet with derby entry forms and rules. The derby will take place rain or shine, and no refunds will be issued.
Mojave Narrows Regional Park will have a weigh-in station available and encourages participants to allow plenty of time to weigh and enter their fish before the 1 p.m. cutoff. Derby cash prizes will be awarded as follows: First place, $1,000; second place, $500; and third place, $250.Winners do not need to be present to claim their prizes. Winners will be announced at approximately 1:15 p.m. at the Regional Park weigh-in station.

Trout are stocked weekly on Thursdays, with 747 pounds released into the lake. For the derby, 1,315 pounds of trout, including lightning trout, will be stocked on Friday, March 7. The lake will be closed to public fishing on Friday, March 7, and will reopen after the derby ends.
