Tickets are now available for the Tri-Community Kiwanis Spring Fling Horse Derby, an evening of fun, food, and lighthearted competition. The event takes place Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the Pinon Hills Community Center, 10433 Mountain Road. The night kicks off with dinner at 6:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:30pm) followed by the Derby.
Guests will enjoy great food, drinks, and friendly competition. There will be nine races. Instead of real horses, jockeys will mount stick ponies and line up at the starting gate. Oversized dice will decide which rider advances toward the finish line. Once bets are placed, the race begins. At the end of the night, betting tokens can be exchanged for raffle tickets and a chance to win fabulous prizes.
Tickets are available for a $25 donation, which includes dinner and ten betting tokens. Beer, wine, and soda will be available for purchase. Additional entertainment includes a 50/50 raffle, prizes, and plenty of laughter. Tickets can be purchased at Keller Williams Realty, 4208 Phelan Road. Children’s tickets are available for dinner only at $15 each.
There are several sponsorship options still available. Each sponsor will be recognized throughout the evening by the Race Caller, your name on the Racing Forms, and on the Placemats. All proceeds from the event will benefit Kiwanis service projects serving the communities of Phelan, Pinon Hills, and Wrightwood.
