All-Clear Given as PPHCSD Boil Water Order Is Lifted

Tri-Community NewsPlus

The Phelan Pinon Hills Community Services District has lifted the boil water order for its entire service area, with the announcement made at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3.

District officials confirmed that the most recent boil water order, which covered customers east of Sheep Creek Road, has now been canceled. There are no boil water orders currently in effect anywhere in the PPHCSD system.

According to the district, the water system, working in coordination with the State Water Resources Control Board, completed testing and hazard abatement and has determined that the water is safe to drink. Residents no longer need to boil tap water or use bottled water for drinking or cooking.

As a general best practice after any boil water event, residents may wish to run their taps briefly, flush water tanks or water heaters, and discard any ice made during the boil water period before resuming normal use.

Bottled water distribution at the Phelan Community Center has ended, and the center is closed today. County support services are expected to return on Monday as part of ongoing storm recovery operations.
