Local libraries are offering special events and regular programs throughout the month of May for both children and adults.
At Wrightwood Library, families are invited to Pete the Cat’s Groovy Springtime Celebration on May 28 from 4 to 5 p.m. The event will feature games, crafts, music and prizes. Patrons who check out 15 items during the event will receive a special reward and be entered for a chance to win the grand prize. A fundraiser by the Friends of the Library will offer seasonal gift baskets themed for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, along with bookstore gift cards available for purchase. Proceeds benefit library programming.
Phelan Library is launching a new basic computer class for adults age 18 and older. Classes will be held Mondays at 4 p.m. and will cover introductory topics such as using a computer, navigating the internet, and basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
Coming soon is the Summer Reading Program, themed “A Tale of Enchantment.” Readers of all ages can participate in activities and earn incentives. Visit library.sbcounty.gov and check the Programs and Events section for more details.
