Stick em' up: Gunfights are just one of the many attractions happening at the Calico Ghost Town Regional Park's California Days.

California Days returns to celebrate Old West history Feb. 15-16, 2025, at Calico Ghost Town over Presidents Day weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

San Bernardino County Regional Parks is excited to commemorate the fourth annual California Days over Presidents Day weekend on Feb. 15-16, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event celebrates early California history, focusing on the state’s admission to the Union as the nation’s 31st state on Sept. 9, 1850, which is officially recognized on Feb. 22 each year.

This family-friendly event highlights the people and culture of early California with activities including gunfighter shows by the Calico Mountain Volunteer Gunfighters, butter churning, and reenactments. Educational displays will feature the state’s Bear Flag, the Pony Express Trail, and the Butterfield Overland Trail.

Serving as a natural backdrop to the Old West, Calico will take visitors back in time with a beard and mustache contest, arts and crafts, pony rides, games and contests for all ages, stories from the Pony Express, and a Pony Express relay for children under 11.

Live music and entertainment will include performances by the Victorian Muse Theater at the Town Hall, classroom reenactment sessions from the 1800s at the schoolhouse, and Wild West street skits by the Scoundrels Alley Calico troupe.

The Dorsey Dog Delivery Game is a dog-friendly scavenger hunt where owners and their furry friends search for clues throughout town to win a treat-filled goodie bag and a first-place ribbon from Dorsey’s Dog House.

A fair-style food lineup will be available at the Calico Restaurant and Lil’s Saloon. All Calico attractions will be open.

Calico Ghost Town is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 4-11, and free for children 3 and under. The town is located off Interstate 15 at Ghost Town Road in Yermo, about 10 miles north of Barstow.

Calico Ghost Town offers full and partial camping at the park. Reservations can be made online at www.sbcountyparks.com. Cabins and bunkhouses are also available. For reservations, call 800-862-2542.
