It’s Veterans Day weekend and we’ve rounded up some of the best local events happening around the Tri-Community, so you can make the most of it. Senior Line Dancing – From 8:30am – 11:00am, great fun and exercise while learning to line dance and the best part is it’s FREE! Location: Phelan Senior Center at the Phelan Community Park, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.
Wrightwood Farmers Market – From 4:00pm – 7:00pm, locally grown fresh produce, artisan baked goods, jams, coffee, olive oil, honey, natural beauty products & soaps, and crafters can often be found at the Market. Location: In the Wrightwood Community Building at the corner of Park Drive and Hwy 2.
Art Night at Wrightwood Arts Center– From 4:00pm-7:00pm. Come create and learn from local artists and educators. Price includes art materials. $20 for WAC members and $30 for non-members. Purchase tickets online through Eventbrite. Location: Community Arts Center & Gallery 6045 Park Drive in Wrightwood.
Friday Night Steak Dinner at The VFW – From 5:00pm-7:00pm, all are welcome to visit the VFW and get a complete delicious steak dinner ($22), alternate meals change each week between Ribs($14), Chicken($12), Pork Chops($12), and Fish n Chips($12) or a vegetarian alternate dinner. Kids meals available too! Proceeds help support the programs and outreach of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Phelan. Location: VFW Post 9415 in Phelan at the corner of Nielson and Johnson Roads.

Volunteer on the Wrightwood Village Trail – From 9:00am. Join the Wrightwood Property Owners Association’s Village Trail Keepers in planting 1,000 daffodil bulbs along the Village Trial on Hwy 2. Please meet at the Mountain Hardware parking lot in the morning to learn how to plant bulbs. Location: Mountain Hardware parking lot at 1390 Hwy 2 in Wrightwood.
Community Teaching Garden in Phelan – From 10:00am. Gardening 101. Learn how simple gardening can be from Master Gardener Michelle Hannon. New topic each month. Free class. All ages welcome. Location: Behind the Phelan Pinon Hills CSD building 4176 Warbler & Sheep Creek Roads in Phelan.
Family Game Time at Wrightwood Library– From 11:30am. Bring the family to the library and enjoy board games, puzzles, and group games for all ages! Location: Wrightwood Library on the corner of Apple and Pine in Wrightwood.
Quilt Guild Ornament Workshop– From 2:00pm-4:00pm. Create a Quilt Guild fabric ornament. All supplies provided. Free. Location: Community Arts Center & Gallery 6045 Park Drive in Wrightwood.
Art Exhibit Opening – From 4:00pm-6:00pm. Come view Los Angeles based artist Andrés Cortes, wonderful creations. This event is free and open to the public. Art showcased will be available for purchase throughout the month of November. Location: Community Arts Center & Gallery 6045 Park Drive in Wrightwood.
Live Music at the Tavern at The Ranch Steakhouse- From 7:00pm-10:00pm. Enjoy music by Ashley and Robert Abercrombie while enjoying good food and cold drinks. Location: Tavern at the Ranch Steakhouse 4264 Phelan Road in Phelan.
