The last week in October saw two major accidents in the Tri-Community, traffic has increased, especially in the Phelan area. On October 28th a motorcyclist was killed after hitting the back of a truck on Sheep Creek Road in Phelan. At about 6pm a truck was stopped on Sheep Creek preparing to turn on a side street, when a man on a motorcycle ran in the back of the pickup truck. San Bernardino County firefighters responded to this accident and pronounced the rider deceased tragically, at the site of the crash near Goss Road.
Just three days later about 12noon, October 30th on Johnson Road at Duncan Road, a 62-year-old man was airlifted after his truck turned on its side in a crash with another truck carrying hay, he was trapped and had to be extracted. San Bernardino County Firefighters responded to the location and found a red truck on its side with a 62-year-old driver trapped inside, it took about 15 min for an extraction, the injured man was transported by air from the Stater Brothers parking lot to Loma Linda Hospital. No word on the driver of the truck carrying hay and if that person sustained injuries.
