At the end of May, Serrano High School’s Class of 2024 was busy with its end-of-the-year activities and festivities leading up to graduation. Among these events was Senior Awards Night, a night to recognize a select group of seniors for their various academic and sports achievements, outstanding efforts, and, for some, community involvement and service.
The night kicked off with presentations from recruiters from multiple military branches, including the Marine Corps, Navy, Army, and Coast Guard. These service members recognized graduates who have committed to serving their country. Each was presented with a commemorative stole to wear during graduation, distinguishing them from their classmates.
Six students were honored for their placement on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. To achieve this prestigious recognition, the students must have maintained A’s in all their classes throughout their high school careers. The Superintendent’s Honor Roll students were presented with a cord to wear during graduation.
The celebration continued with the presentation of local scholarships to several students. Many organizations honored them with financial awards as they continue their educational journeys and future endeavors. Some of these organizations included the Joan Parsons Memorial Scholarship, the Phelan Chamber of Commerce, the Hesperia Wranglers, the Timberline Lion’s Club, the Tri-Community Kiwanis, Mountain High, the Snowline Teachers Association, Snowline Youth Football and Cheer, the Serrano Football Boosters, and more. This financial support is crucial to all who were honored and awarded.
The Senior Awards Night was an amazing event for the students and their families to celebrate. Congratulations to the Serrano High School Class of 2024! We wish you good luck in all your future endeavors. We would like to thank all those who came out to support these amazing students, especially those local organizations who awarded and recognized these young adults for their achievements over their years in the Snowline School District and our community.
