Raymond E. Rezek, of Phelan, passed away on June 21, 2023. Ray was born to John and Martha Marie Rezek on October 19, 1945, in San Bernardino, California. In 1976, Ray moved to the community of Wrightwood. Ray met Bill Boyle in Wrightwood, and the two became business partners at Holiday Foods. Ray had an entrepreneurial spirit and loved serving the community of Wrightwood. After the sale of Holiday Foods in 1995, he took over the operation of Wrightwood Mini-Mart. In 2014, Ray retired to enjoy life with his loving wife, Karen. Karen and Ray married in 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ray loved being on the go and living the high life on the river or at the beach. You would find him happiest while fishing, boating, on the road in his RV, or barbecuing for friends and family with his faithful dogs by his side. Ray was always known to help anyone in need. As the saying goes, “If you know Ray, you will never go hungry.” Ray is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen; brother Ron Rezek and his wife Jeannie; Stepsons Rick Cronk, Greg Semler and his wife Andrea, Aaron Semler and his wife Karlyn, and Travis Semler and his wife Stacey; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Rezek; sisters Carol Cook and Rita Mosely; son Chris Rezek; and stepson Curt Cronk. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend time outdoors enjoying your favorite meal or drink with a loved one. A celebration of his life will be held on August 12, 2023, from 5:00-7:30 pm at the Wrightwood Country Club.
