Lyle Edward Farmer was born on May 31, 1931, in Colby, Kansas. He passed away due to natural causes at his residence in Phelan at the age of 92 on February 5, 2024.
Lyle was a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He worked as a millwright at California Steel and Kaiser Steel for over 35 years. Lyle was a proud Korean War veteran who enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing. He had a special interest in baseball, particularly coaching his son, and umpired in Riverside County for over 40 years. Lyle was a devoted member of the 4-H Community, where he served as a mentor to youth, teaching them leadership skills, helping with record books, and supporting the San Bernardino County Fair Livestock Show and Auction for more than 40 years.
Lyle was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Josephine Farmer, son, Clarence Farmer, and daughter, Katherine Stapert.
Lyle is survived by his loving son Nick Farmer (wife Susan) of Fontana, daughter Evelyn Mason (husband Mark) of Kansas, son-in-law Bob Stapert of Fontana, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Lyle’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Mortuary in Riverside.
