Weapons, ammunition, and methamphetamines are discovered in Pinon Hills during a joint law enforcement investigation.

On Thursday, February 22, 2024, a collaborative operation involving law enforcement teams from Victorville Police Station’s Multiple Enforcement Team, Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division, SanCATT, and the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station targeted Jason A Waters, a 42-year-old resident of Pinion Hills, with a felony warrant related to firearm theft and possession of stolen vehicles.

Deputies engaged in the investigation confronted Waters at the 9200 Block of Avalon Road in Pinion Hills at approximately 9:38 a.m. Waters, identified as the sole occupant of a white Ford F-250, was promptly detained for further inquiry.

Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered several high-capacity magazines loaded with ammunition, accompanied by a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine. Following this discovery, a comprehensive search of Waters’ residence ensued, revealing an extensive arsenal comprising 28 firearms, including rifles, shotguns, handguns, and revolvers. Additionally, law enforcement recovered approximately 2,000 rounds of miscellaneous ammunition. Notably, a stolen off-highway vehicle was also found on the property.

After these findings, Waters was transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center on charges of P.C. 496D(A) – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and P.C. 30305(A)(1) – Felon Prohibited from Owning/Possessing Ammunition or Firearms.

Individuals possessing information pertinent to this investigation are urged to contact the Victorville Police Station at (760) 241-2911 or the Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760) 956-5001.
