It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jacquelynn “Jackie” Charlene Child Meredith and her beloved husband, Daniel Thomas Meredith. Their lives, deeply intertwined for decades, came to a tragic end on April 5, 2024, in Baker, California.
Jacquelynn Charlene Child Meredith
Jacquelynn Charlene Child Meredith was born on July 3, 1975, in San Dimas, California. Jackie was a devoted homemaker, the cornerstone of her family’s success and happiness. She had a profound love for animals, maintaining a full farm with donkeys, goats, pigs, and various other creatures, including snakes, lizards, and turtles. Jackie’s compassion extended to the smallest of creatures, and she tried to save every animal possible. She had a passion for Vikings and history, and Disneyland was one of her favorite places. Above all, she was the best Gigi and mom in the world, living for her grandchildren, who were her best friends, and her children.
Daniel Thomas Meredith
Daniel Thomas Meredith was born on April 5, 1977, in Covina, California. Daniel, or Danny as he was affectionately known, was a man of great determination and hard work. He enjoyed going to the river, participating in hill climbs in his Razor, and spending endless amounts of time with his kids and grandkids. Daniel also loved listening to music, dancing, and karaoke.
Daniel’s educational journey began with earning his GED, after which he obtained his C36 plumbing license and journeyman’s license, which he taught for several years. His career in plumbing started as a helper, and he quickly advanced through the ranks. After working for several companies, he found his calling at Plumbing Master, where he served as regional manager for over 20 years. Following the COVID pandemic, Daniel decided to open his own family-operated business, Daniel Meredith Plumbing, which served the tri-community and actively participated in local events.
Their Life Together
Jackie and Danny were together since they were 12 and 14, and they were were inseparable best friends. They grew up together, started a family together, learned together, made a company together, and endlessly loved together. They shared a bond that grew stronger with each passing year. Their love story is one of deep connection and mutual respect, a true testament to their enduring partnership.
They are survived by their daughters Ashley Lam and Kelly Child Meredith and sons Zachary Meredith and Christopher Meredith. They also leave behind grandchildren Nathan, Kaydence, and Rainier, Daniel’s brother Randy Meredith, and Jackie’s sister Stacy Giedt. Additionally, they took in Stephen Lam, Cameron Vincent, and Tyler Kooiman as their children.
Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Robin Hudlow, and her grandparents, Charles and Charlene. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Gaylene Meredith, and his grandparents, Doris and Gary Stewart. Their combined legacy is one of love, perseverance, and a deep commitment to family.
Memorial Service
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Jackie and Daniel will be held on May 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church located at 300 North Glendora Ave, Glendora, CA 91741. The service will be a time to honor their lives, share memories, and support one another in grief. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Jackie and Daniel will be deeply missed, but their love and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those they touched.
