Community members are invited to participate in a variety of weekly programs designed for both youth and adults. Advance registration is required for each class at www.pphcsd.org/events to reserve a spot. Participants who are unable to attend after signing up are encouraged to notify the office at 760-868-1212 so others may take their place.
A favorite among families is the Summer Movie Nights, held on Friday evenings at dusk in the Phelan Community Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their chairs and blankets. The movie lineup includes: “Migration” (Rated PG) on June 12th, “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” (Rated PG-13) on June 19th, and on June 26th “The Tiger’s Apprentice” (Rated PG). Hosted by the Tri-Communty Kiwanis. Serrano Key Club will have snacks for sale. Friday night movies are free and no RSVP is required.
Kids Free classes include: Kid’s Judo Class for ages 10 and older is held every Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Phelan Community Center. The class is led by USJA certified second-degree black, Chase. No experience or uniform is required, and all skill levels are welcome. RSVP required.
Kids Archery Class for ages 5-17 is held Thursday, June 18th & 25th from 9am-11am. The location is at the west corner of Cayucos Drive and Sheep Creek Road in Phelan. Hosted by the Mojave Archers. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Bows and arrows will be provided during class. RSVP required.
Creative Lab for ages 7-14 is held on June 16th, 23rd & 30th from 9am-12pm at the Phelan Community Center. Workshop designed for curious young creators to experiment with drawing, building, and themed art projects. Hosted by Drawing Together. RSVP required.
Kids Painting Classes are held on Thursday, June 11th, 18th & 25th. Ages 5-12 from 9am-10:30am. Ages 13 & up from 11am-12:30pm at Phelan Community Center. Fun and creative day using Shine Bright paint. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. RSVP required.
