Cal Fire (California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection) and CR&R Waste Management are offering free brush chipping services to Tri‑Community residents Friday through Sunday, Aug. 8–10, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Phelan Fire Station, 9600 Centola Road at Phelan Road.
Residents may bring green yard trimmings, brush and tree limbs for chipping. Limbs must be no larger than 15 inches in diameter and 10 feet in length. Joshua trees, leaves and pine needles will not be accepted. The service is provided at no charge.
This effort, organized in cooperation with the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District and local Fire Safe Councils, aims to help residents reduce flammable debris ahead of the 2025 wildfire season and promote wildfire preparedness.
