Deputies Respond To Knife Brandishing Incident In Phelan, Suspect in Custody

Tri-Community NewsPlus

On Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 6:08 pm, deputies swiftly responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance in the 12400 block of Golden View Street in Phelan. What they encountered was a tense situation that resulted in the arrest of 26-year-old Jesus Rosas.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, Rosas allegedly brandished a knife and attempted to harm multiple individuals within the residence. Deputies arrived promptly and successfully took Rosas into custody on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

However, the situation escalated further during the arrest. As deputies were placing Rosas in the back seat of the patrol car, he reportedly kicked one of the arresting deputies in the face, adding an additional charge of obstructing/resisting an executive officer to his list of offenses.

Rosas, who is currently on parole, was subsequently booked at High Desert Detention Center. He now faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing/resisting an executive officer. Due to his parole status, Rosas is being held without bail on a parole hold.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward. Deputy D. Waters of the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station can be reached at 760-552-6800.
