Don't miss the Mountaineer Days Hometown Parade on Sunday, July 7th at 1 p.m on Park in Wrightwood.

Wrightwood’s 60th annual Mountaineer Days will celebrate the 100th year since Wrightwood became a village. In 1886, Sumner Wright came to this area and purchased as much land as possible. In 1924, he subdivided the property, creating the village of Wrightwood. It was also in 1924 that the village began celebrating Independence Day with what is now Mountaineer Days, a two-day family event.

The Wrightwood Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to join the 60th Mountaineer Days festivities on Saturday and Sunday, July 6 and 7, 2024. The event promises fun for the whole family. The Centennial celebration begins both days at 10 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m., featuring new activities and events alongside old favorites. Families can enjoy two days filled with activities, including unique local shops and eateries, old-time games and contests, a Quilt Guild auction, a Hometown Centennial Parade, a petting zoo, panning for gold, axe throwing, a mustache and beard contest, cowboys and gunfighters, Can-Can girls, a variety of vendors, raffles, live music, and a beer and food garden.

The Hometown Parade will be on Sunday at 1 p.m. It is open to groups or individuals, with categories including floats, walking groups, antique vehicles, equestrian entries, and child entries aged 12 and under. There is no entry fee for the parade. For an online application, visit wrightwoodchamber.org and scroll to the Mountaineer Days picture for application forms.
