Just one of many homes that have been affected by the holiday flooding.

In the days and weeks after the recent storms and flooding, Wrightwood was held together by neighbors, volunteers, agencies and organizations who simply showed up when they were needed most.

From clearing debris and restoring access, to checking on residents, delivering supplies, and helping coordinate emergency response, dozens of people and agencies worked to protect the village and one another.

Now, the community is taking a moment to say thank you.

On Saturday, Jan. 10, a Wrightwood Flood Community Appreciation Spaghetti Dinner will be held at Wrightwood United Methodist Church from 2 to 5 p.m., honoring the volunteers and organizations who helped Wrightwood through the flooding and its aftermath.

The dinner is being hosted by the Timberline Lions of Wrightwood, in collaboration with the Wrightwood Village Foundation, Wrightwood Property Owners Association, Wrightwood Community Coalition, Wrightwood Chamber of Commerce, Wrightwood Community Services District, Wrightwood United Methodist Church, and Christ Church of the Canyon.

The event is meant as a thank-you gathering for the people and groups who played a role in the response and recovery, including San Bernardino County Supervisor Paul Cook’s office, the Office of Emergency Services, CERT, Public Works employees, Flood Control, and the many local volunteers who stepped in to help their neighbors.

The meal will include spaghetti with sauce, salad, bread, and dessert, served in a relaxed, community setting where those who worked side by side during the storms can take a moment to reconnect and be recognized.

The goal is to offer a sincere expression of gratitude to the people who gave their time, energy, and expertise when Wrightwood needed them most during the recent storms.

“The response we saw was incredible,” said Timberline Lions President Jill Carlton-Paynel. “So many people and organizations came together to support this village. This dinner is about honoring that effort and the heart behind it.”

As Wrightwood continues to recover, this dinner is a reminder of what community looks like, where people offer help without hesitation, and neighbors come together in gratitude, compassion, and unity.

The Wrightwood Flood Community Appreciation Spaghetti Dinner will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, from 2 to 5 p.m.at Wrightwood United Methodist Church, 1543 Barbara Street in Wrightwood. The afternoon will include spaghetti with sauce, salad, bread, and dessert, served in appreciation of the volunteers and organizations who supported Wrightwood during the recent flooding.
