Wrightwood Elementary is set to launch its first Ready Raccoons Resource Fair on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. This event, aimed at helping parents support the early development of their children, is sponsored by a local nonprofit organization and will offer a wide range of resources for families with children aged 0 to 4 years.
The event will feature 15 different stations hosted by teachers and experts, covering topics like sensory and movement activities, social-emotional learning, and tips on how to read with your child. A Book Fair in the school library will also be available, and parents will leave with a free kit that includes books, toys, and activities to help foster positive interactions with their children.
In addition to these resources, the fair will offer giveaways such as diapers, formula, and backpacks, and representatives from Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, the Wrightwood Public Library, and Healthy San Bernardino County will be present.
This initiative is part of Wrightwood Elementary’s commitment to supporting families through programs like Ready Raccoons and the Golden Raccoons, which pairs students and families with local seniors in need of companionship and care during crises.
Wrightwood families are encouraged to attend this free event and take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and materials offered to help prepare young children for success in school and beyond.
