As Wrightwood continues to recover from last week’s severe storms, local and county emergency teams are asking the community to help by donating non-perishable food, pet food, pet supplies, and monetary donations to support residents who were impacted.
San Bernardino County’s Office of Emergency Services and Wrightwood CERT are operating a Care and Reception Center today, Monday, Dec. 29, and Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wrightwood Community Building. The center is also providing bottled water and other supportive services for residents who need assistance.
The donation drive is intended to help people and families who are still dealing with the effects of flooding, debris flows, and power disruptions caused by the Christmas week storm.
Southern California Edison reported that power was restored in Wrightwood as of Saturday, Dec. 27, returning electricity to most homes and businesses after storm-related outages earlier in the week.
While utilities have largely been restored, clean-up and recovery efforts are ongoing, and county and local response teams remain in place to help residents access supplies and support.
Residents who are able are encouraged to bring donations directly to the Wrightwood Community Building during Care and Reception Center hours.
