San Bernardino Regional Parks is excited to welcome back the One-Day Trout Derby on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Prado Regional Park in Chino. Gates open at 6:30 a.m., and prepaid derby fees are encouraged. The derby fee is $20 per person, plus $15 per vehicle. A fishing license is required for all participants ages 16 and older. Participants will receive a wristband and a packet with derby entry forms and rules. The derby will take place rain or shine, and no refunds will be issued.
Mojave Narrows Regional Park will have a weigh-in station available and encourages participants to allow plenty of time to weigh and enter their fish before the 1 p.m. cutoff. Derby cash prizes will be awarded as follows: First place, $1,000; second place, $500; and third place, $250. Winners do not need to be present to claim their prizes. Winners will be announced at approximately 1:15 p.m. at the Regional Park weigh-in station.
To prepay, visit parks.sbcounty.gov/fishing-derby. Prado Regional Park is located at 116700 S. Euclid Avenue in Chino. For the derby, 1,660 pounds of trout, including lightning trout, will be stocked on Friday, January 9th. The lake will be closed to public fishing on Friday, January 9th, and will reopen after the derby ends at 1:00pm on January 10th.
