It is officially the Fall Season! Get out and enjoy the nice temperatures while you still can. The weather will stay hot in Phelan/Pinon Hills in the high 80s/low 90s all weekend and Wrightwood in the low 80s. It will be a great day for shopping at the Wrightwood Library Book Sale. Western events are also popular this weekend with the Sheriffs Rodeo at Glen Helen Park and Calico Days happening at Calico Ghost Town in Yermo. Be sure to share your events with us. Senior Line Dancing – From 8:30am – 11:00am, great fun and exercise while learning to line dance and the best part is it’s FREE! Location: Phelan Senior Center at the Phelan Community Park, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.

Senior Game Day – From 12:00pm – 6:00pm. Seniors step into the air-conditioned Phelan Senior Center to play games including Cribbage. The popular UNO card game begins at 3:00pm and ends at 6:00pm. Location: Phelan Senior Center, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.

Heritage Builders Club Car Wash Fundraiser – From 3:00pm – 4:30pm, Donations will be greatly appreciated and proceeds will be going to their Tunnel to Towers campaign. Location: Heritage School on Wilson Ranch Rd in Phelan.

Wrightwood Farmers Market – From 4:00pm – 7:00pm, locally grown fresh produce, artisan baked goods, jams, coffee, olive oil, honey, natural beauty products & soaps, and crafters can often be found at the Market. In the Wrightwood Community Building in Wrightwood, at the corner of Park Drive and Hwy 2.

Sheriff’s Rodeo at Glen Helen Regional Park – Gates open at 4:00pm, The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Rodeo takes place on Friday-Sunday and offers plenty of fun for the entire family! General Admission is $20-$30 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6 and under. Friday Night Steak Dinner At The VFW – From 5:00-7:00pm, all are welcome to visit the VFW and get a complete delicious steak dinner ($22), alternate meals change each week between Ribs($14), Chicken($12), Pork Chops($12), and Fish n Chips($12) or a vegetarian alternate dinner. Kids meals available too! Proceeds help support the programs and outreach of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Phelan. Location: VFW Post 9415 in Phelan at the corner of Nielson and Johnson Roads.

WW CERT CPR Class – From 8:00am-4:30pm. There is a $20 charge and will be limited to the first 14 sign-ups. Must be at least 18 years old. The course will be taught by Thomas and Sylvia Kite, certified instructors  of the HMI course.  To enroll email: certwrightwood@gmail.com Location: Wrightwood Community Building Parking lot at 1275 Highway 2 in Wrightwood.

Wrightwood Library Book Sale – From 10:00am-3:00pm. Fill up a Jensen’s Market bag for $5 and stock up on books for the Wrightwood Winter. Under the tents you’ll find plenty of bargains on a large variety of books. This event is sponsored by the Wrightwood Friends of the Library. Location: Wrightwood Library is located at the corner of Pine and Apple streets.

Calico Day’s Two Day Festival – Calico Days will roll into Yermo this weekend with two full days of family fun, including gunfighting shows, musical performances and fast draw demos. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 4-11, and free for children 3 and under. For more information, call (909) 387-2757. Location: 38900 Ghost Town Road, Yermo.
