Tri-Community NewsPlus

A heated eviction took a violent turn on Saturday, October 14th, prompting a swift response from San Bernardino County Sheriffs. Deputies were dispatched to the 9200 block of Aragon Road in Phelan after receiving a 911 call at 4:29 p.m. The distressed landlord reported that she had informed her tenant of his eviction, and he responded by physically assaulting her.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim bearing injuries from the assault. Swift medical attention was administered, and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Kevin Figueroa of Phelan, barricaded himself inside his trailer on the property, refusing to exit.

A tense standoff ensued, stretching over a span of more than four hours. Eventually, Figueroa was apprehended and subsequently booked at the High Desert Detention Center. He presently remains in custody, with bail set at $40,000.00.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone possessing pertinent information is urged to contact Deputy J. Ballinger at Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station at 760-552-6800. Anonymity can be maintained, as callers are encouraged to reach out to We-Tip at 800-78CRIME or visit www.wetip.com.
