The 2025-2026 Snowline Joint Unified School District (JUSD) school year officially began on August 14th as the sound of laughter and conversations from students and teachers filled the halls once again. With it come new opportunities for leadership roles, programs and sports teams. All of which will continue to further Snowline’s mission to Educate, Inspire, and Prepare every student for success.

Three leadership roles have new appointees this year. Dr. Resma Byrne will be taking on the role of Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning and Support Services. Dr. Byrne comes with over 20 years of experience in a number of educational leadership roles. “It is an honor to join the Snowline community as we work together to serve students, families, and staff with excellence, compassion, and purpose,” shared Dr. Byrne in a press release from the district. Andrea Bilodeau will be heading the Director of Facilities, Warehouse, and Reprographics role. Bilodeau will be leading facility improvements throughout the district as well as playing a key part in supporting the Measure J projects, which will include projects such as safety enhancements and classroom technology upgrades. Julie Galbraith will fill the Director of Health Services role. This is an advancement move within Snowline for Galbraith that will give her the ability to provide leadership to the district’s nursing staff and continue to strengthen medical support for Snowline students.

New opportunities that students have to look forward to this year include enhancements to the Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways at the high school level, as well as enrichment and project-based learning opportunities at the elementary and middle school levels. This year also marks the first-ever Serrano High School Girls Flag Football program.

Throughout the year, Snowline JUSD will be holding special events and activities for its students. With their continued commitment to enhancing education, they will be putting on STEM nights, multicultural celebrations, and college and career expos. Snowline also continues to invest in professional development for the dedicated teaching staff and expand counseling and mental health services within the district.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to be involved in the school site councils, PTAs, and district advisory committees. They are also encouraged to volunteer at school events and stay up to date by frequently checking the parent communications platforms. By staying informed and being involved, parents will help support Snowline in their continued success to ensure that all students have the opportunity to thrive.

“We are proud of the progress Snowline is making in providing exceptional educational opportunities for all of our students,” said Robert Chacon, Director of Marketing, in his press release. “This year brings exciting new initiatives, dedicated leaders, and innovative programs that will strengthen our schools and our community.”
