The Serrano Theatre Arts Department will present “Game of Tiaras” with four evening performances on Friday and Saturday, February 27 and 28, and again the following weekend on March 6 and 7, 2026. All performances begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Serrano Performing Arts Center, located at 9292 Sheep Creek Road in Phelan.
“Game of Tiaras” is a clever and comedic crossover of William Shakespeare’s King Lear and the popular television series Game of Thrones. The play reimagines the classic tragedy with a fairy-tale twist, blending high drama with sharp humor and modern pop-culture references.
The story follows the aging king of a magical kingdom (England) who decides to divide his empire among his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who bears no resemblance to any copyrighted character). What follows is a series of terrible, and hilariously tragic, events. Featuring dramatic betrayals, over-the-top twists, and an ever-growing body count, the production combines Shakespearean despair with the shock value of Game of Thrones. As the play warns, when you play the Game of Tiaras, you win…or you die.
Tickets are available online at gofan.co or by calling 760-868-3222, ext. 6. Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $6 for students, and $6 for seniors age 55 and older.
The Serrano Theatre Arts Department, under the direction of Beverly Quinn, presents three main-stage productions each year. The department’s final production of the 2025–26 school year will be Disney’s Frozen, scheduled for the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May.
