In a bid to spread the love even further, the San Bernardino County Clerk is gearing up for Valentine’s Day by adding a third location for marriage licenses and ceremonies. Lovebirds in the county now have the option to say “I do” amidst the scenic beauty of Joshua Tree, joining the existing romantic hotspots in San Bernardino and Hesperia.
Last year, the County Clerk’s office was buzzing with love as they issued over 9,000 licenses and conducted 4,500 ceremonies. To meet the anticipated surge in demand on the day of love, a pop-up location has been set up at the ARC Mobile Unit in the Bob Burke Government Center, 62665 29 Palms Highway, Joshua Tree.
Valentine’s Day holds a special place in the hearts of both couples ready to “tie the knot” and the County Clerk staff. Chris Wilhite, San Bernardino County’s Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk, expressed the team’s excitement, stating, “Our busiest day of the year for marriages is here once again. Our team eagerly awaits Valentine’s Day each year. We decorate our lobbies and ceremony rooms in anticipation of celebrating the love birds wishing to tie the knot.”
For couples planning to make their union official through the County Clerk’s offices, it’s advised to review the marriage license requirements and complete an application at arc.sbcounty.gov/marriage before booking a marriage service appointment online.
