The Mojave Water Agency has released its 2024 schedule of events, activities, and classes available. Events are free to the public and include in-person and virtual options.

For starters, the online “From Seeds to Salad” course began on January 25 and runs weekly until May 2, 2024. This is one of many online public education workshops offered in partnership with the Mojave Desert Resource Conservation District. Online registrations are still available.

The additional upcoming Mojave Desert Resource Conservation District online classes include:

  • Native Plant Gardening, March 12, 2024
  • Summarizing to Save Water, April 2, 2024
  • Soil Composting, Mulching, and Soil Amendments, October 10, 2024
  • Native Plant Cuttings Propagations Class, October 24, 2024
  • Winterizing to Save Water, November 7, 2024

The in-person Wonders of Water series of workshops returns this year to bring awareness about current climate, industry, and weather events and is presented by Mojave Water Agency staff experts and local community members. This year’s scheduled classes will be held on March 5, July 9, September 10, and November 5, 2024. All classes are held at Mojave Water Agency Headquarters in Apple Valley from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Participants visit the Mojave Water Agency Operations Center during a bus tour hosted by the Agency last fall.

The Mojave Water Agency’s first Road Show, formerly known as our Mini Tour, will be offered on Saturday, May 18, 2024, with a fall date scheduled for October 17, 2024. These half-day bus tours visit local facilities and are hosted by Mojave Water Agency staff. The Saturday event is expected to fill up fast, so register soon.
