A stolen U-Haul truck was located at the 12700 block of Alta Vista Road in Pinon Hills on Thursday, January 25th, 2024. Deputies responded to an anonymous tip about the stolen vehicle being parked in front of a home on Alta Vista Road.
Authorities were able to confirm that the U-haul was reported stolen and were successfully able to recover the vehicle. Deputies arrested 35-year-old Ricardo Villarreal of Phelan, who is now booked at High Desert Detention Center for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Villarreal has had a record of theft in the past. Back in July of 2023, NewsPlus reported that Ricardo Villarreal of Phelan was arrested in Lucerne Valley for stealing a chain link fence and attempting to flee from the police.
