A 35-year-old man was arrested after allegedly assaulting customers and causing property damage at the Big Rock Inn on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
Deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a 911 call at 7:20 p.m. reporting that a patron, later identified as Troy Hettinga of Pinon Hills, had become intoxicated and was asked to leave. Once outside, he allegedly smashed two windows with his fists, threatened employees and customers, and began throwing rocks.
One female patron sustained injuries while attempting to flee and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
When deputies arrived, Hettinga was holding a bloody rock and advanced toward officers, resisting arrest before being taken into custody. Due to injuries sustained from breaking the windows, he was taken to a hospital, where he reportedly threatened medical staff.
Hettinga was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism of $400 or more. He remains in custody with bail set at $50,000.
